Born in Clarksdale Miss, where the Blues was born, grew up listening to blues while other 7 year old's grew up listening to main stream music and artists. Melvin attributes his writing talents to a gift from God and riding in the back of his dad's Cadillac every summer, going to Clarksdale, Miss. from Flint, Michigan listening to blues greats.
